For many, many years, there's been nothing more satisfying for me than a walk in the woods to soothe my being. It's about connecting with nature, the feelings this brings and sensing the spirit of the trees. I have enjoyed this since my early years when exploring the forests where I live near Vancouver, BC.
My paintings source nature for images of joy, light and harmony on my canvas. Trees always inspire me, old tree are treasures to enjoy. And my pointillist painting style brings me closer to them in the studio as the dots share how everything is connected as in the woods. Trees in the woods are to be touched and painted. And they are to be treasured more and more as climate change threatens their being.
I learned to paint without access to lessons and workshops. This is how I found the contemporary pointillist style I have always used. My painting mission is to bring light joy and harmony to my canvas. Trees foster this endlessly. When I wonder about what to paint, I simply ask the trees.
My paintings have exhibited in international venues since 2003 and includes exhibiting annually for six years (2011 to 2016) at the jury-entry Salon held by the historic Societe National des Beaux-Artes at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris, France.
I left a national corporate role about 25 years ago to follow my heart and explore the joy of nature through painting.
My studio is in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
