My paintings bring images of joy, light and harmony. This is what viewers tell me. While I paint many subjects, my 'go to' theme is trees and their woodlands. In this I seek the intimacy of special places where a few trees live more than looking to paint a panorama as landscape art often depicts. And in sourcing this intimacy I find moments of light and harmony for my canvas. Basically trees always seem joyful to me.
Back when I was about 45 years old, I remember thinking about how I wished I was 65 and able to do the things I wanted to do.
This was a crazy thought because at the time I didn't really know what it was that I really wanted to do. My life involved being a national level corporate manager. But, while not knowing what I wanted to do, the thought made me realize I was wishing about 20 years of my life away.
The blessing was that over the next couple years I took action in response to this thought and left corporate life. What I didn't know is I was about to become an artist teaching myself to paint landscapes using dots which has been my brushstroke and style.
Here's some background information about what has happened for me as an artist:
Overall I've been painting for about 25 year: I'm self-taught and have always a contemporary pointillist painting style. As an artist, my desire is to paint feelings of light, joy and harmony in my landscapes. My studio is in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
My artwork has exhibited in many international locations including events in France, Italy, Brazil, Monaco and the USA. And I exhibited artwork annually for six years (2011 to 2016) the juried-entry Salon held by the historic Societe National des Beaux-Artes (SNBA) at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris France.
In 2014, I received a medal award recognition from France's national Academie Arts-Sciences-Lettres. And in 2012, ArtTour International magazine wrote about me as a ‘master pointillist’: the magazine further recognised my work with an award for "Excellence in The Arts and Outstanding Career Achievement".
Below, I've listed of events involving my artwork:

November, Celebrations, group exhibition in Calgary, Alberta.
July, solo exhibition sponsored by the Friends of Fish Creek Park Society in Calgary, Alberta form July 1st to October 31st.
